TΨ History
There have been over 300 Alpha Kappa Psi chapters founded in universities throughout North America since the fraternity’s original founding. The Tau Psi Chapter at the University of Houston was founded on April 20, 2002 with over forty founders. These individuals laid down the foundation of innovation and Brotherhood at the Bauer School of Business. Subsequently, April 20th is a very special day for our chapter, as we celebrate Founder’s Day annually with great respect and thankfulness to our Alumni and Founders. Tau Psi was the 289th chapter to have been founded since Alpha Chapter in New York University in 1904.
The Founding President of our chapter is Sylvia Peng, who is the only President to serve for three semesters. A caring and hard working individual, Sylvia greatly helped Tau Psi to become all that it is today. Since her presidency, there have been seven other Presidents to serve Tau Psi.
